Shop Rate

Our shop labor rate is $150 per hour.  This is the basis for labor cost on our quotations, and is also the standard rate for all other services except for where warranty work is required on a system we installed or maintain.

That said, for a full install/upgrade project, our experience shows total project cost is what matters to most.  We focus on offering comprehensive estimates - giving you a clear understanding of the overall cost without needing to worry about labor rates.

Estimating your project

Every estimate is centered around the specific project.  We bring to bear our past experience and look at the complexity of the job.  The estimate represents total cost to complete your project.  It includes materials, time, and any other considerations.  No two jobs are alike.  Some may not take as long as expected.  Your final invoice will remain based on the original estimate.

Of course, there is the occasion where a project takes longer due to something unforeseen.  We don't adjust the invoice unless we're facing an extreme circumstance or there's a significant change in the scope of work.  We want to to be confident the total cost of the project remains as quoted even if there are variations in the time it takes to finish.

Adjustments

There are some situations where adjustments to the original quote may be required, including:

• Scope changes:  If the project expands during the build - like adding a new feature or replacing an older component that wasn't previously discussed, this falls outside the original scope and may result in additional cost.  We will communicate any scope changes with you, document and present the adjustments before proceeding.
• Time & materials:  Some projects or parts of a project may be billed on a T&M basis.  An example would be a project that involves something custom/unique where it may be hard to quantify the scope up front, when discovery is needed due to complexity or to better understand the materials and labor required.  This would all be a discussion between us before moving forward.  We absolutely want you to feel comfortable.

Fair pricing

We focus on providing the total cost for your project.  Should something new come up during the course of your project that changes time needed, that's for us to work through, not you.  Our customers pay for the value they receive.  You've put a project in our hands because of our experience - and if we need to take a bit more time to figure something out, that's what we do.

The time spent preparing a quote and total project cost ensures you understand and agree to the value of our services - and neither party needs to worry about rates or surprises on the final invoice.
