RV A/C Soft & Easy Start Install

In the course of getting an RV solar system installed, one of your goals may be to run the air conditioner from your new batteries and inverter only, without shore power.  In order to do this without overloading your system, we recommend installing a 'soft start' or 'easy start' on your air conditioner unit(s).  Installing one on each unit helps reduce the power surge that happens when a large appliance - like your air conditioner - starts up.

With a soft or easy start installed, running your air conditioner in off grid conditions, whether it be with a solar system or generator, reduces the strain on all the equipment involved.  This can help extend battery life, and even the components in your A/C unit.

This is a key upgrade for anyone who plans to run their equipment off grid, assuming the batteries and inverter you have are sufficient to run the load.
